Circus is coming to Roydon

Circus is coming to Roydon

Posted: 29th March 2019

Roll up, roll up, the circus is coming to Roydon!

This summer, the traditional Summer Extravaganza at Roydon Primary Academy will be replaced with a visiting circus.

On July 6, two shows will take place at 1pm and 2.30pm for the whole community to enjoy as a way of raising funds for the school.

To launch the event, 115 pupils enjoyed an evening at the school with their friends – Kids Night Out - to watch The Greatest Showman.

Wearing their pyjamas and armed with their favourite blankets, the pupils enjoyed popcorn and drinks as they raised £500 for the school.

The big event has been organised by the school’s PTA, FORSA (Friends of Roydon School Association).

Headteacher Michael Clark said: “Roydon has a brilliant PTA who work incredibly hard putting on events such as the Christmas Bazaar, film nights and Easter egg hunts and then put the money back into the school. This event will be an open event, so all are welcome, with all proceeds going towards the school.

“We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing PTA. They work so hard, despite having their own jobs, to put on events throughout the year to fund extra special treats for the children.

“I cannot thank them enough and we are all looking forward to the incredible circus in the Summer!”
